The Research Assistant will work directly under the supervision of Dr. Elaine Solowey, Director of the Center for Sustainable Agriculture.
The intern’s work will focus on the following areas:
-Domestication of wild species
-Development of life history parameters of wild species before and during domestication
-Assisting in maintenance of the CSA plots
-Composing papers on the life history of specific plants
-Planting acacia trees
-Agriculture graduates with a GPA of 90% or above
-Strong organization and time management skills
-Affinity for outdoor work
-Computer and MS Office proficient
-Pleasant, personable, hardworking, efficient, able to work under pressure and for long hours
-Ability to work independently
The Center for Sustainable Agriculture (CSA), directed by Dr. Elaine Solowey, is a vital player in the field of desert agriculture and sustainable agriculture in the Middle East and the world. The Center is dedicated to the investigation and preservation of arid lands and their natural resources, and works collaboratively with leading institutions including Ben-Gurion University, Jacob Blaustein Institute for Desert Research at Sde Boqer, and the Department of Applied Research.
