The Medical Clinic Intern will work directly with patients from the Sudanese and Eritrean refugee community in south Tel Aviv, guiding them through the reception process and medical treatment.
The intern’s tasks will include:
-Working in the reception area of the clinic
-Directing patients to the proper station
-Managing the appointments in the clinic
-Developing a public health-related project (optional)
Medically trained and certified interns will have the opportunity to treat patients.
-Background in Medicine or Public Health
-Ability to work under pressure
-Interest in working with the refugee community
-Independent, initiator, outgoing
The Ministry of Health Refugee Clinic was founded in 2008 and provides free or heavily subsidized medical services to refugees and migrant workers who are not covered by the National Health Care system. The clinic’s activity is almost entirely volunteer based, with volunteer doctors, nurses, students and laypeople.
