With 435 active nuclear reactors in the world, and 72 new reactors currently
under construction, nuclear energy is an important resource that is here to stay. There are inherent risks
that need to be taken into account, however. When coupling the risk of a nuclear reactor catastrophe
with today’s increase in terrorism, first responders (including firefighters, police, military, and CBRNE
forces) now face many new and unconventional challenges while performing their life saving roles.
StemRad has developed the revolutionary 360 Gamma, the world’s first wearable shield that provides
first responders with life-saving protection from gamma radiation. StemRad is also engaged in
advancing the state-of-the-art radiation protection for astronauts for future spaceflight missions beyond
low-Earth orbit, and is co-developing the AstroRad radiation PPE with Lockheed Martin, the prime
contractor of NASA’s Orion Project.
The intern will assist in identifying potential customers and distributors,
assist with Business Development through outreach to potential clients, and conduct marketing research
relevant to existing and future products.
Strong English communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability
to focus on the details. A successful intern in this position must have the ability to work in a team
environment and equally working alone.
