The duties of the interns include:
proof-reading breaking news copy;
checking newspaper articles to see that they appear correctly on the site; highlighting articles using basic graphics and computer skills;
screening, editing, and publishing reader responses.
Interns are also encouraged to write feature stories on topics related to their experiences in Israel and the region, Jewish community affairs, Arab-Jewish coexistence, and other topics, for publication on the site, under their byline.
The internship consists of 2-4 shifts a week, the number of shifts and the length of the internship to be determined by the intern. Shifts are from 9 AM to 3 PM, or 3 PM to 9 PM, with a shorter 9 AM – 1 PM shift on Fridays and the eves of holidays. The schedule, including number of shifts, is made up anew every week, taking into account the intern’s individual requests.
The internship can be as many months as you wish, as long as you give us some idea in advance.
