The International Affairs Assistant will work closely with the Unit Director to promote Israel’s involvement in international environmental agreements.
Depending on the abilities and interests of the Fellow, the position may include:
-Organizing inter-ministerial consultations
-Reviewing and analyzing the extensive documentation produced by the Secretariat of the Convention, as well as assisting in identifying specific Israeli interests and seeking materials on the topic
-Drafting interventions and speeches and preparing materials for delegations
-Work closely with and be directly mentored by the Head of the Department.
-Fluent in English
-Excellent writing skills
-Academic knowledge of and interest in International Relations, Environmental Studies, and/or International Law
-Commitment to the incorporation of best international environmental practices in Israel
The MEA is charged with promoting the accession to and participation of Israel in International Environmental Conventions, Protocols and Agreements together with relevant professional staff of the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MoEP) and other governmental and non governmental bodies in Israel and works in close cooperation with the Department of International Relations in the MoEP.
