Job Description of Trainee:
Interns will work as first responders on ambulances and mobile intensive care units, under the supervision of senior medics and paramedics. Interns will treat patients in all types of emergency situations. Interns that stay for a few months might have an opportunity to do more advanced classes. (There is an additional cost for the MDA program because of training and accommodations for the course).
Sample internship schedule:
Interns will be assigned to shifts at the station according to the needs of the station on a weekly basis. The shifts are not set and may change on a daily or weekly basis.
There are three shifts, 7:00-15:00, 15:00-23:00 and 23:00-7:00.
All interns in this placement are required to participate in an 8 day training program and to pass the exam at the end of the training. The training course covers all areas of first-aid and certifies the participants as Certified First Responders in Israel. Participants who hold a valid EMT license may be exempt from the training in certain cases.
Other qualifications required/Rec.: Must have received Hepatitis B vaccinations and be in good health.
