Conservation Agro-Ecosystems Internship, Center for Conservation Agriculture – Dead Sea & Arava Science Center

The Conservation Agro-Ecosystems Intern will work on several projects of the Dead Sea & Arava Science Center, under the supervision of Dr. Ilan Stavi.

The intern will be responsible for:

-Monitoring biochar production in the lab
-Physical and chemical testing of biochar
-Managing field and greenhouse experiments in the Southern Arava R&D, as well as in other locations throughout Israel
-Running soil tests
-Field plots establishment, preparation and management
-Soil and crop sampling
-Physical and chemical testing of soil samples
-Data analysis and summarizing
-Optional: writing grant proposals and research papers

Qualifications:

-Some background in soil science, agriculture, environmental studies, physical geography or related field
-Strong organizational and time management skills
-Computer and MS Office proficient
-Pleasant, personable, hardworking, efficient, able to work under pressure and for long hours
-Willing to take on major responsibilities
-English fluency mandatory
