The Manufacturers’ Association of Israel (MAI) represent more than 2,000 Israeli companies which accounts for over 90% of Israel’s industrial output. As an independent umbrella organization, the MAI represents private, public, government and kibbutz-owned enterprises, constituting a powerful advocacy element both at the level of proposed legislation, and in practice. Through lobbying efforts and hands-on involvement in policy making, MAI supports free and open trade based on reciprocity and fair trade practices, and facilitates opportunities for international trade.

Job Description of Trainee:

a. Represent the Israeli industry in bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements (FTA) and forums focusing on international trade and trade-related aspects.

b. Monitor trade barriers in export markets and violations of fair trade principles.

c. Assist Israeli exporters and importers to address ad-hoc situations.

d. National contact point (NCP) to The World Economic Forum (WEF) and its Bench-marking Network.

e. Represent the Israeli industry and private sector as a member of several OECD/BIAC committees, in addition to facilitating the engagement of Israel representatives in over 40 policy groups.

f. Perform PR for the Israeli industry including writing reviews on international political economy aspects, major economies and markets, arrange and lead professional seminars.

g. Coordinator for the Anti-Corruption Forum in Israel.

h. Work with the Anti BDS forum to assist impacted Israeli companies.

 

*** The position will include aspects also the role of International Business development.

Training required:

1. Have a background in Economics/ International relations/ Business management/ Trade

2. Excellent English skills (Hebrew a plus)

3. At least 3 months internship 4.

Working hours – 8:00 – 17:00 (flexible)
