alt="office of chief scientist israel"The Policy Fellow will assist the Energy and Cleantech Unit in developing policies regarding national oil, gas and cleantech issues.

Oil and Gas:
In the wake of the natural gas discoveries in Israel, the Office of the Chief Scientist works to leverage those discoveries to create a knowledge intensive Israeli industry in the fields of oil and gas. This requires international benchmarking research for policies aimed at leveraging natural resources discoveries for the creation of an intensive based industry, as well as planning and executing events aimed with the participation of experts, researchers and companies interested to become active in this area in Israel.

International benchmarking research for policies aimed at encouraging the development of technological industry in the cleantech field, such as water, renewable energies, alternative fuels, reduction of GHG emissions and more. In addition to policy level activity, work scope could include arranging business to business activities, seminars and exhibitions and more.

-Previous knowledge and experience in international policy benchmarking, oil and gas, and cleantech – advantageous
-Advanced computer skills, mainly in Excel and PowerPoint – required
-Excellent writing skills
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) in the Ministry of Economy is charged with execution of government policy for support of industrial R&D. The goal of the OCS is to assist in the development of technology in Israel as a means of fostering economic growth, encouraging technological innovation and entrepreneurship, leveraging Israel’s scientific potential and enhancing the knowledge base of industry in Israel.
