Organizational Development Associate, Beit Dror Temporary Home for GLBT Youth - Provided by Tikkun Olam Tel Aviv-Jaffa  

alt="beit dror israel lgbt"As an Organizational Development Associate, you will work alongside the Beit Dror staff to ensure smooth daily functioning of the shelter. You will also help with fundraising and public relations in order to help build partnerships with organizations outside of Israel.

Beit Dror is the first therapeutic emergency center for GLBT youth in Israel. “Dror” is a temporary shelter for adolescents, both male and female. Besides offering a safe home, a warm bed and meals, it also provides psychological and moral/social support, direction in finding long-term solutions, as well as enrichment and educational activities.

The internship is supervised by the Director of External Relations but works with the entire staff. You will work with outreach to North American communities through print and social media; managing the English Facebook page, heading up the Friends of the Daniel Center’s North American Newsletter and helping to create advertising materials both for events at the synagogues and the tour center, as well as larger projects. Depending on interest and ability, the position allows for grant research, tutoring current conversion students, blogging, and participation in the Mishkenot Ruth Tour Center just to name a few!

The Daniel Centers for Progressive Judaism in Tel Aviv-Jaffa serve the metropolis of Tel Aviv-Jaffa with three vibrant centers – Beit Daniel in northern Tel Aviv, Mishkenot Ruth Daniel in the heart of Jaffa and Kehilat Halev in central Tel Aviv. As a religious, cultural and educational center, we bridge the gap between secular Israelis and their Jewish heritage, and between our traditions and today’s modern world, and build lasting connections between the Diaspora and Israel.

reutsadakaSadaka-Reut: Arab Jewish Youth Pernership is looking for an intern to help with fundraising, grant writing and project development, as well as helping with the day-to-day running of the organization. There will also be a chance to assist the youth development groups themselves.

We are Palestinian and Jewish activists in Sadaka-Reut, who work together to build bi-national partnership in the society we live in. This partnership will be achieved by recognizing and taking responsibility for the inherent injustice in our current reality and by correcting this injustice as the foundation for a shared future for both peoples, together with other minorities that live in Israel.

Sadaka-Reut was founded in 1983 by a group of Jewish and Palestinian students. Since then, it has been active in various parts of the country. Our activities focus on educating youths to be politically and socially active and on creating a bi-national community of activists for social change.

Social Work Internship, Mesila: Municipal Aid Center for Migrant Workers and Asylum Seekers - Provided by Tikkun Olam Tel Aviv-Jaffa  

alt="social work internship israel"While interning at Mesila you will be responsible for conducting intakes and providing referrals for clients from the migrant worker and asylum seeker communities in south Tel Aviv. You will also be given the opportunity to volunteer at one of the unrecognized pre-schools run through social services within the local community.  You may also have the opportunity to provide direct assistance to families with children with special needs to help them receive social service benefits.

Interns at Mesila must be able to read, write and speak in both Hebrew and English – volunteering positions are also available for those with limited Hebrew ability.

Founded in 1998, Mesila is a non-profit organization dedicated to combating poverty by raising public awareness about the importance of financial stability and independence among the refugee and migrant worker communities in south Tel Aviv.
